Utrecht, the capital

Museums in Utrecht
If you want to visit a museum, you also have the choice in the city of Utrecht. The Museum Speelklok is a cheerful museum. Everything here revolves around music. It also provides new insights into music boxes. You can also visit the Sonnenborgh Museum & Observatory. During a tour you will learn a lot about astronomy, in the months of October to March you can watch the stars here at night. The Miffy Museum is the museum for toddlers and preschoolers. The little ones can discover the world in a playful way here. In the Miffy museum you can see the world of Miffy in miniature. They are recognizable figures for toddlers and preschoolers. Finally, you can also discover the railway museum in Utrecht.

Amersfoort
If you walk through the center of Amersfoort, you will encounter old street patterns and be amazed by historic buildings and well-maintained monuments. This is a beautiful, compact city center, ideal for day trips. This is partly due to the beautiful city center, the beautiful canals, countless shops and cozy terraces and restaurants. Amersfoort attracts more than a million day tourists every year. The highlight of Amersfoort is probably the Mondriaanhuis for some. Here you can take a look at the birthplace of Piet Mondrian. Veenendaal, the Netherlands

But the old mill "de Vriendschap" is also worth a visit. In the past, wheat was ground here and the mill is still used regularly. Veenendaal is also a good city for shopping. Nature in Utrecht
Despite the fact that the province is small, it offers a lot of nature. The Utrecht Ridge is one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands. Much of the park consists of pine forest and deciduous forest. In the west you can also find vast plains with heather, lakes, grasslands and sand drifts. In Utrecht, visit the Vinkeveense plassen, the Hollandse Waarden or the Vecht region.

In the province of Utrecht it is not a wrong choice to visit one of the many castles. Be enchanted by the largest castle in the Netherlands, Kasteel de Haar. Or visit Groeneveld Castle or Drakensteyn Castle, a stone's throw from Soestdijk Palace. You can also visit animal parks.
